Award: Patient Education Information Category
The second edition of AA
Path To Healthy Living," produced for The Upjohn
Company, is a Disease Management Education Program for people
with Type II diabetes. This comprehensive home guide contains
information that every patient needs to know about the disease
including diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, medication
management and traveling tips.
In order to help motivate patients
to modify their daily lifestyles and manage their treatments
more effectively, several compliance tools are included
in the program. The booklet was peer-reviewed by physicians,
pharmacists, and certified diabetes educators. It was also
reviewed by the American Diabetes Association, the American
Association of Diabetes Educators and the National Diabetes
Information Clearinghouse.
This is the second year in a
row that Consumer Health Information Corporation was recognized
in this national contest. Previously, the company was awarded
both the Silver Award (Patient Information Category)
and the Bronze Award (Consumer Information Category).
"We are honored to be recognized
once again by the awards committee," said Dr. Dorothy
L. Smith, President of Consumer Health Information Corporation.
"Equally as gratifying is the response we have received
from patients and health professionals who have reported that
the program has improved patient compliance and helped patients
better manage their disease."
